Local Transit Helps Bring Record Numbers to Earth Day SLO 2012

Earth Day SLO 2012 had the largest amount of attendees since the event began back in 1990.  Records show that more than 2,000 people came out to celebrate Earth Day at El Chorro Regional Park on April 22. Transportation for the festival-goers was provided by both SLO Transit and San Luis Obispo County’s Regional Transit Authority (RTA). From all over the county, people were getting rides on the double decker bus then dropped off at Cuesta College. From there they hitched a ride on a trolley and shuttled over to the event. The smooth transition between the buses helped start off a successful Earth Day.
