Brittany App

Brittany App is speaking, presenting and educating about the ongoing drought in California at Earth Day. A water activist and  award-winning photographer, App’s current project and debut documentary is titled “Where There Once Was Water” and will discuss the current California water crisis with a focus on solutions for a more sustainable future. She will be hosting an interactive booth about her film as well as speaking on the subject on the Main Stage at 1:45 pm.

Brittany is a dynamic and well-traveled photojournalist, artist and self-proclaimed vagabond who hopes to educate and explore California’s water crisis through her art work. Her documentary was inspired by a collection of her own still photographs. App says “The stills just weren’t telling the whole story… water is far too complex an issue. And we’re at a point, particularly here in California, where we simply must focus on solutions and change our behaviors in regards to how we interact with water.”

App’s Kickstarter campaign for the documentary version of “Where There Once Was Water: A California Story has already exceeded its first goal. With this film and her work as an activist, App hopes to inspire behavioral change on all levels, moving us all toward a more respectful relationship with water.
