Earth Day: Exhibiting at Earth Day

Earth Day 2017

Saturday, April 22  11 am – 5 pm
at El Chorro Regional Park

Present your Message, Cause, Product or Service

Is Earth Day right for your group or organization?

Exhibiting at Earth Day is open to all types of organizations: non-profit, for-profit, government agencies, individuals, families, schools, clubs, churches, etc.

Having an Earth Day booth will connect you with people who already care about the environment. They will be open to hearing your message and ready to learn about your cause, product or service that addresses the environment or our quality of life. This is a day to educate, motivate and activate! What can you share with visitors  that will influence their future actions and further commitment to create a clean, healthy sustainable and prosperous environment.

In cases where environmental issues are not the primary focus of an organization, share your green practices (carpooling, recycling) or a message that does address the environment.

The Earth Day Alliance, Inc. reserves the right to decline any exhibitor application for any reason whatsoever.

Where does Earth Day take place?
The 27th annual Earth Day Fair will take place at El Chorro Regional Park. It is located on Hwy 1, across from Cuesta College, and is also the home of the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, the Aids Memorial Grove and Dairy Creek Golf Course.  All exhibit areas are outside; most exhibit spaces are on grass, a few may be on gravel parking lots.

Who attends Earth Day?
Earth Day visitors come from all over San Luis Obispo County. This broad cross-section of residents and visitors enjoy and appreciate nature’s gifts. They want to learn the best practices for conservation and preserving and protecting our environment for future generations. Over 2,500 people attended Earth Day in 2016. A Kid’s Zone provides activities for children of all ages; adults like it too.

Exhibitor Fees?
All fees are based on a 12′ x 12′ space and exhibitor class:  Business/government agencies, nonprofit, public schools, or College Clubs. Additional space is available for an additional fee. Exhibitor fees help to cover event expenses: promotions, insurance and signage.

Selling at Earth Day?
This is NOT a flea market or street fair; sales are controlled. All items to be sold must be pre-approved. Non-profit groups are free to sell for their own fund-raising purposes. All items sold must be environmentally-relevant goods and services (e.g., products that have significant recycled content, or promote energy or water efficiency and conservation). Any food products sold will require proper health department permits with the County of SLO.

How to plan for the day
Exhibitor setup will take place from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. The event formally starts at 11:00am and ends promptly at 5:00pm. All exhibits must remain setup until the end of the event when breakdown and cleanup begins. Vehicular traffic will not be allowed in the park during the fair. Based on how quickly the crowd departs you should be able to leave the park by 6:00 pm.

Will Earth Day work for me?
That largely depends on you. If you have an interesting display, a clear message, and an active, engaging staff at your exhibit space, you may hardly have time to catch a bite to eat or take a bathroom break. It’s amazing what a positive, happy attitude can do. Spread the word and invite everyone you know. This will increase your chances of having an even better day.

How do I sign up?  Click on the Exhibitor at Earth Day and the applications menu will pop up. Applications must be received on March 31. Late fees apply on  and after April 1
