The Earth Day Alliance will host its 29th Annual San Luis Obispo County Earth Day Fair & Music Festival on Saturday, April 27th at Laguna Lake Park from 11am to 5pm. This day of environmental education and fun is intended to bring the community together, present environmental concerns, offer solutions and inspire action.
Dozens of nonprofits, businesses, government agencies and students clubs will share their cause, program and solutions to protect and preserve our natural resources and reduce climate change. All ages are welcome and admission is free. Visit the Kid’s Zone, Green Car Show, Eco Market Place, Health Center, and enjoy food and beverages from Beda’s Biergarten and Bliss Cafe. In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions we will have a meatless menu.
Earth Day Alliance is an all volunteer organization. We need your help in planning, preparing and on the day of the event. We welcome experienced and newbies to assist with all levels of work from leaders to worker bees. Join the team. For more information call (805) 544-8529 or email: earthdayslo@gmail.com.
The largest contributor to GHG is transportation, so it’s important to consider how you get to the Earth Day Festival. You can walk, bike (rent electric from BoltAbout.com or Wally’s Bicycle), take SLO Transit 3A (from downtown) or 2A (from LOVR) or carpool with another festival goer! Use the handy tool below to post your carpool. You can also use the Waze or Waze Carpool apps from Google for additional carpool options.
